A day behind again...

And I think it's only going to get worse with the imminent arrival of Little Peanut sometime in the next day or so...

I had a hankering for some chocolate chip cookies yesterday. The absolute best recipe I've come across is the Thick & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe from The New Best Recipe. So easy and so so good.

I'll try to keep updating from the hospital since we have an internet connection in the room, but I don't promise anything. I think I may be a bit busy during the next few days.

Two... two... two posts in one

I forgot to post yesterday's photo. Woops. I also almost forgot to take it.

First, today's photo:

A freshly folded afghan is the best thing ever - according to Jorge. I had to pull this old afghan out to stop him from setting up camp on the one I'm currrently crocheting (while I'm trying to crochet it). As you can see, it worked.

Photo from January 5, 2009:

A previously loved Raggedy Ann that I picked up at the antique market near our house sits in the baby's crib waiting for her new owner to arrive.

I don't think it worked

Today we took a brief walk in the forest preserve, mainly because I wanted to get out of the house but also because I heard that taking a long walk might jumpstart labor. Well, it was windy and cold and the path was frozen over after about a quarter of a mile... so the walk wasn't as long as it should have been... and no labor yet.

Another wild Saturday night

Spent sitting in bed, too tired to do anything but crochet and watch Antiques Roadshow and perhaps a little 48 Hours Mystery... I'm wondering whether I'll finish this afghan before baby gets here. I really hope not.

T minus 6 days and counting...

Bird's eye view of my ever-growing bump

Less than a week until my due date, but as my manager told me at work the other day: "The baby doesn't have a calendar in there."

Happy New Year!

The original idea was to use sparklers outside, but it's cooooold out there and we couldn't find anywhere in the vicinity that was dark enough. Did I mention it's cooooold outside?

Anyway, so we used leftover Hanukkah candles. Happy '09, everyone!
